The 2017 report of The Lancet Countdown: Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change shows that climate change is already a critical public health issue. Its findings outline the various ways climate change is affecting the health of people across the planet today.

While the delayed response to climate change over the past two decades has jeopardised human life and livelihoods, the past 5 years have seen an accelerated response, with momentum building across a number of sectors.

The direction of travel is set in tackling climate change, with clear and unprecedented opportunities for public health.
