वायु प्रदूषण से 6.5 मिलियन प्रति वर्ष मृत्यु होती हैं1

वायु प्रदूषण सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य के लिये बड़ा जोखिम है। शहरी क्षेत्रों के 80% से अधिक निवासी विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डबल्यू.एच.ओ) द्वारा तय की गई वायु गुणवत्ता की सुरक्षा सीमाओं से अधिक प्रदूषण स्तरों का सामना करते हैं जिससे हृदय रोग, फेफड़ो के कैंसर, श्वसन रोग और हार्ट अटैक के जोख़िम बढ़ सकते है। आज अपने रोगियों और पर्यावरण के लिये सुरक्षित, स्वच्छ वायु के लिये स्वास्थ्य चिकित्सक इकट्ठे हो रहें हैं।
