On Friday 1st November, a public health emergency was declared in Delhi because of sever air pollution levels. Schools are shut until 5/11. Local authorities are distributing masks free of cost, people should stay indoor and get air purifiers, despite some families might not be able to afford them.

Delhi’s air quality took a hit after Diwali night due to a combination of firecracker emissions, fed farm fires (stubble burning) and unfavourable meteorological conditions. Since then, pollution levels have been rising.
